The study first maps the current developments in digital technologies globally and the challenges arising from their spread. Secondly, the trends in key variables of the Telecommunications – Digital Upgrade (TDU) pillar are presented, the market structure in some of its activities is analyzed and Greece's progress in digital transformation based on the DESI index is presented. Then, the strategies and financial tools supporting the development of the TDU pillar at the European and national level are presented, and policy proposals are made for their improvement and monitoring of their implementation. The study also includes quantitative estimates for the impact of key macroeconomic variables, as well as a higher degree of digitization of the Greek economy, on the country's economic growth.
