We give economics and finance undergraduates the opportunity to discover the world of investments and mutual funds. Our experienced executives help them become familiar with tools that will allow them to manage investment portfolios in the future.

What is Investor Simulator

It is an initiative that gives economics and finance undergraduates the opportunity to attend webinars by our experienced executives, and then build and manage mutual fund portfolios.

Who Investor Simulator is addressed to

It is addressed to 3rd and 4th-year economics and finance students in Attica, who aspire to join the investment sector and become familiar with investment portfolios. Specifically, it is addressed to students at:

  • Athens University of Economics and Business
  • University of Piraeus
  • National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
  • University of West Attica

How to apply

Fill in the application form from 16.04.2024 until 18.04.2024 and then send a certificate of studies for each member of your team at am@eurobank.gr.

4 teams can participate from each university. Selection is based on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 4 teams to apply from each university will be the ones to participate.

Each team must have 2-4 members. One member will be the team leader. The team leader applies on behalf of the team and fills in the details for each member.

Phase 1: Education and portfolio creation

The students participating in phase 1:

  1. Attend the 1st webinar by experienced Eurobank Asset Management MFMC executives.
  2. Build their portfolios and send them to the committee within 7 days from the 1st webinar.
  3. Attend the 2nd webinar by our experienced executives.
  4. Restructure their portfolio 4-12 times during phase 1.

The committee assesses the portfolios and selects the 6 winning teams that will continue to the next phase.

How the teams build their portfolios

All portfolios follow the same benchmark. Each team must choose some mutual funds, and build a balanced portfolio with international geographic diversification and a specific level of risk.

The teams must also explain why they chose these mutual funds and also calculate the main performance and risk indicators.

Phase 2: Portfolio presentation and evaluation

The 6 winning teams from Phase 1 present their portfolios to the committee for final evaluation. Our experienced executives choose the winning team based on:

  • The overall risk-weighted return of the portfolio, from the 1st to the last restructure (information ratio).
  • The presentation where the team explains and documents the rational behind its investment choices.
